Amazing food and service. The ambiance is very chill. I haven't had such wonderful Indian food in a very long time. The drinks are very good but the best is the Jal Jeera drink! My family gets it every-time! Definitely a place we will keep coming back to!

Have eaten Indian food all over the US and this place is one of the best! Very attentive staff, good prices and the food, the food is fantastic, the tandoori especially is amazing! Great bar area too serving fancy cocktails. A great experience, we will be back!

The food here is a 10/10! I had lamb curry mild and it wasn't spicy at all so if you don't want spice they will respect that. It was so good. My date had chicken biryani and that was amazing. It was very spicy and so flavorful! The white sauce, Raita, they provide was very helpful with the spice. We also ordered samosas which were spicy and extremely good. The garlic naan was the best naan I've ever had thus far! The mango lassi was great as well! I was very happy with this place. The service was great they are very attentive and kind. I enjoyed ambiance, it was a classy place but if you are looking for a casual dinner it's suitable as well. They do serve alcohol if you're looking for a drink. The prices aren't bad either. With all we ordered it came out to around 60 dollars. It is in the downtown area so there's street meter parking which is the only downfall but we didn't have an issue getting a spot.

I was visiting friends in Harrison and we decided to go to Urban Tandoor for dinner. We didn't have to make reservations but there was ample seating around 8 pm on a Friday. The restaurant was dim lit, but didn't bother me too much. We ordered family style and ordered paneer tikka masala, malai kofta, chicken tikka masala, and chicken vindaloo. We ordered everything medium (4/5) spicy and the quality was great! The spice level was on point and all dishes were hearty and flavorful.

The butter chicken in this restaurant is hands down some of the best I've ever had. It wasn't rich but still had a nice creamy flavor and most of all it was packed with spices. It was definitely more spicy compared to other Indian restaurants but I loved the kick it had. Definitely ask for extra mild if you don't like spice. Would definitely come back to try their other dishes

We tried their GunPowder Shrimp (it was probably chef's special for that day), Fish tikka, tandoori lamb chops and authentic Hyderbadi chicken biriyani. All the items were cooked to perfection. Cannot wait to go back and try other items on their incredible menu.

Right on the main drag of Harrison, Urban Tandoor is worth the trip if you're in Newark and looking for good Indian food. The interior is intimate, and more modern than I expected. The food is very good and was reasonably priced as compared to what you would spend for similar dishes in Jersey City. I got the goat curry - which I believe to be a more complex dish than your usual chicken tikka masala and I was quite happy with it. The restaurant also has a nice selections of cocktails if you are looking for that as well.

Ordered from here again and the place was just as good as the first time I ate here! Palak paneer was top tier. Basmati rice was perfect.

Totally updating my previous review because totally changed my mind for this place. The last time I was here, I came right after a long flight, probably at the wrong time and probably too jet lagged to even think. This time, we came at the perfect day and time and really enjoyed our full experience here. This place has incredible service, even the owner was walking around to make sure everyone was ok. The ambiance was absolutely spot on. Filled with locals and also a perfect little date night spot with dimmed lights and a cool bar area. The food was incredible and this for sure is a really nice spot in the area to go to. My go-to's area always the Dal Makhani and Malai Kofta because it's hard to pick just one. Everything was fresh and delicious and we left so happy and content :)
